The difference between steel mesh framework composite pipe and steel framework plastic composite pipe in market

At present, there are two completely different products on the market generally called steel skeleton PE pipe. One of them is steel skeleton plastic composite pipe, that is, steel skeleton polyethylene plastic composite pipe, and the other is steel mesh skeleton PE pipe, whose full name is steel mesh plastic (polyethylene) composite pipe.

Although these two kinds of pipes belong to steel-plastic composite pipes, in fact, there are great differences between the two kinds of pipes from the forming mode to the product characteristics. The specific comparison is as follows:

Forming methods and pipe characteristics:

1. Steel skeleton plastic composite pipe: steel mesh welding and plastic extrusion are carried out synchronously. The inner and outer plastics of the pipe wall are connected by the metal mesh holes in the middle of the pipe wall. There is no obvious interface between steel wire and plastic. The overall structure is similar to reinforced concrete. The two materials are completely combined into one, and the quality of each part of the pipe is uniform and stable.

2. Steel wire mesh framework plastic (polyethylene) composite pipe: first extrude the inner plastic, then coat a layer of hot melt glue on the outer wall of the formed inner plastic pipe, then wrap the steel wire, then coat a layer of hot melt glue, and finally extrude the multiple moulding of the outer plastic. There is a clear interface between the pipe layer and the layer, which is easy to delaminate. The steel wire winding layer inside the delaminated pipe is separated from the plastic layer. Under the condition of conveying corrosive medium, the steel wire layer will be seriously corroded, which will damage the main body of the pipe. Because the compressive capacity of the remaining plastic part after the steel wire layer is corroded is very low, even under low pressure, it is possible. Tube burst occurred. Even if there is no corrosion problem, because the steel wire at the end of the pipe is not fixed (the bonding effect is not good), under the action of pressure, the steel wire will slide between the plastic layers, resulting in no steel wire reinforcement at the end of the pipe, and become a pure plastic pipe with very thin local wall thickness.

 Pipe structure:

1. Steel skeleton plastic composite pipe: The inner and outer plastic of the pipe wall are connected together through the metal mesh hole in the middle of the pipe wall (like the structure of reinforced concrete). The two materials are completely combined. Because the surface of the steel wire is very smooth and without edges and corners, the plastic flow resistance is small and the extrusion is even in the forming process, so the quality of each part of the pipe is uniform and stable. Because it is welded into a net, the grid spacing of the skeleton is the same, the structure is stable, and the supporting effect on the plastics is strong.

2. Steel wire mesh framework plastic (polyethylene) composite pipe: The wrapped steel wire mesh is bonded with the inner and outer plastic under the action of hot melt adhesive. Due to the non-sticky property of polyethylene material itself, the bonding effect is general, and the quality uniformity of the pipe is poor due to multiple moulding. Because the steel wires are only wound together and not welded, the mesh spacing distribution of the wire mesh is uneven, the structure is unstable, and the local strength of the pipe is very low where the steel wire spacing is large. Because the steel mesh does not support the plastic well.
